Reclaiming Self Esteem After Acne
Acne has a way to penetrate and drill down into the depths of one’s psychology where medication can not reach. It can hang on strong while it consumes the spirit and mind.
Perhaps one of the reasons it can lead to a more serious problem is the fact that they are not visible to the eye, it is internal wound that has no representation in the physical world, making it more difficult to solve or identify.
While there might be many types of treatment available to aid in clearing the skin, from oral and topical antibiotics to laser treatment. Emotional scaring could be a longer process because there is no specific treatment for the mind.
It is true that for many people who have overcome acne, the idea that it all can come back any day is something that will keep them awake at night. It is not uncommon for the outside view of themselves is not yet reflective on how they see them selves in their own perspective and how they move in the world. Overconfidence to insecurities can prevail and make themselves known.
How to overcome some of these challenges? While it sounds much easier then it really is, the first part of the process is to forgive ourselves for the torments and emotional distress we have caused ourselves. The famous “why me” is a key phrase that many with acne tell themselves as they look in the mirror.
Thinking about relativity and contrast of the current situation at hand with the situations that occurs in the world could provide a different perspective of what having acne means. This attitude will create momentum to enjoy life even while experiencing it with acne just until you discover something that will put it under control.
Think about your ideal life of being acne free, and what things are you doing, or how you feel at that point in time. Now find a way to replicate that today in the here and in the now. Act the part until you become it. The mind doesn’t know the difference it will move you into your predominate thoughts. And will create a solid foundation for when the superficial acne free clear skin is in alignment of the clear internal beliefs about yourself.
While there is no exact cure for acne, in fact it can’t be cured rather it is prevented being committed to an end result is what counts. When experimenting with a treatment set it in your mind that it is not going to cure it, you are only testing to see how your body responds to it, and if it’s something that you should consider investing more resources into. If not then move on to experimenting with something else. By being committed to an end result rather then each process it will keep you motivated and closer to being acne free.
while the process of removing acne scars may not be easy Minniger Strauss writes about laser acne treatment and how it can be an effective tool against acne.
