Skin Parasites There are numerous forms of skin parasite that can cause suffering and illness in us, and most are well known and treatable. They take the form of miniscule insects – mites, fleas and ticks to name a few – and show up in various ways, causing a variety of skin problems that can be a source of serious suffering to the patient.

Scabies Mite Among the most frequently seen incidences of mites in humans are some that are thanks to the Scabies, or Itch, mite. This miniature animal feeds on our blood and eats tiny tunnels in the skin where the female lays her egg lives. The insects are spread by one to one contact, as they can not live for long without a living host. The work of the mites instigates very noticeable itching and pain, and leaves behind a tiny indication of a line where the mite has crawled under the skin.

More about Scabies – Inflammation of the skin is a symptom, and scratching by the patient is inevitable, and simply exaggerates the problem. Recognising scabies is quite easy – the discolouration of the skin and the severe itching are signs – but it may also be taken for other similar infections , and is thus very hard to diagnose correctly. One added problem is that the symptoms may not be evident until several weeks after the mites have arrived, leading to the problem being very advanced by the time it is diagnosed. Once diagnosed, however, scabies can be treated with a number of creams and lotions and other routines, and is hardly difficult to treat very swiftly indeed.

Ticks – Ticks are removed from mites in that they are seen above the skin, and feed on our blood by biting their way into the skin and securing themselves by way of very powerful tooth-like barbs. This is one aspect of ticks that live on mammals and humans that instils them extremely horrible; it also makes them extremely difficult to remove correctly, and whether on a human or animal, it is not advised to simply pick a tick that is in the process of dining off the body.

More on Ticks – This could to leave the sharp section – the anchor – in the top layers of the skin and, in many cases, can lead to surgery being necessary in order to prevent a worse situation. The right method of removing ticks is to smear them in butter or oil, or other fatty substances, which should suffocate the mite in a short time. The application of such results in a weakening of the creature’s grip, and it should thus be easy to remove. Ticks, notably those found in tropical locations, can carry a number of very nasty fevers, and as such must be treated with a degree of suspicion in all cases.

Morgellons Syndrome – One of the more worrying afflictions associated with skin parasites is that known as Morgellons Syndrome, a recently reported condition that is as interesting as it is terrifying. Morgellons syndrome is a parasitic problem with a specific feature – there are no parasites frequency of the condition. However, it is accepted as not being an entirely original condition, just one that has been spread more widely in recent years. Most of these treatments for skin parasites only relieve the symptoms. It’s not uncommon for people to be diagnosed with scabies, body lice or delusional parasitosis. The primary goals the CDC is setting forth in their investigation are to learn more about who may be affected, the common list of skin parasite symptoms experienced and to generate hypotheses about factors that may contribute to it.

Skin Parasite Home Remedy: Add 3 or 4 teaspoons into a small spray bottle of tea tree oil, peppermint oil, anise oil, hospital grade disinfectant and water. The water makes up about 3/4 of the total volume. Spray the mixture on your scalp, neck, feet and anyplace you feel activity before getting in the bath. This removes many of the fibers out of the skin. Then add a couple capfull of the oils listed into your bath water. Soak for about a half hour if you can. This has been known to drastically reduce the itching.

Morgellons Home Remedy: Sulfodene Dog Shampoo includes No pesticides. Sulfur and coal tar are the main ingredients and these ingredients are sometimes used as a body wash and shampoo. Many suffers claim to have success using this product for relief. By relieving the itch, it also known to help with flaky stuff, scratches or broken skin. Coal tar is the ingredient in T-GEL, etc. but this has the sulfur too and is cheaper. you can find this in most discount stores or pharamacies.

Skin Parasite Home Remedy: 10% Sulfur Soap and 10% Ointment – Most local pharmacies can order it for you if you can’t find it on the internet. Even cheaper is the Mexican Brand that can be found in the Hispanic Grocery stores. Pomade de Azufre. Good stuff, you can find it cheaper at WALMART or the Hispanic Grocery store

Skin Parasite Home Remedy: Borax can be used as an alternative: You can use it for washing your clothes, and many people have had better luck with this than anything. Turn your water heater to a VERY high temp. It’s concentrated and it takes the place of laundry detergent.
